How we look after your information

• Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
• The town, suburb or province you live in.
• If you separately choose to add them under Protected details: your encrypted ID or passport number and street address, for applications that specifically need them.
• The answers you give the Career Coach, and which of them you confirmed.
• Documents you separately choose to upload, and the CV facts we propose from them.
• The CVs and applications you create.

• An identity number, passport number, full date of birth or street address found inside an uploaded document.
• Anything about race, disability, health, marital status or criminal record.
• Other people's contact details, including a referee's phone number.

A work-seeker form or an old CV usually carries more than a CV needs. When we read one, we take only what belongs on a CV and discard the rest before extracted diagnostic text is stored.

These details are never automatically copied into your profile or extraction diagnostics. An ID/passport number or street address can remain inside the original source file until its retention date or deletion. If you need either for an application, enter it yourself under Protected details so you see the separate purpose and warning.

To provide the CareerStart service: build the CV you asked for, show you opportunities after you have approved it, and let you sign in again and carry on. Nothing else.

Acknowledging this notice is required to create and use a CareerStart account, but it is recorded separately from accepting the service terms and confirming pilot eligibility. Uploading a document and sharing optional information with the Career Coach are separate choices you make after account creation. You can build a CV without either.

Adding protected identity or street-address details is optional and has its own confirmation. Saving them does not put them on every CV. You choose again before generating a document that contains them.

This initial pilot is for people aged 18 or older. CareerStart records an adult-eligibility confirmation but does not ask for or store your birth date. Accounts for people under 18 require a separately approved child-protection and competent-person consent process that is not available in this pilot.

• You. Everything is yours to read and correct.
• No employer, unless you send them an application yourself. CareerStart never applies on your behalf.
• Academy staff, only to help when something has gone wrong, with a reason recorded, and never your uploaded documents from ordinary admin screens.

• Sell your information, or use it to advertise to you.
• Use it to train an AI model.
• Give an employer your details because they paid us.
• Put anything on your CV that you have not confirmed.

The Career Coach is software, not a person. It reads documents you choose to upload and suggests wording. Suggestions are shown to you as suggestions—nothing reaches your CV until you say yes.

To read a document we send it to an AI provider under contract. They process it to answer that one request and do not keep it to train their models.

Protected details that you enter separately—ID/passport number and street address—are never sent to Prof or an AI provider, and are not used for matching or recommendations.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask us to show you what we hold, correct anything wrong, object to processing, receive an export, or delete your account and its contents. Ask through the Help page, or email privacy@alphatower.org.

You can submit and track an access, correction, export, objection or deletion request from your privacy controls. Trained staff verify and fulfil pilot requests, record the outcome, and answer within 30 days. You can ask at any time and do not have to give a reason for access or deletion.

• Your account and CV, for as long as you want it.
• Protected identity and address details, only while you choose to keep them for application use. You can delete them without deleting your CV.
• Uploaded source files, up to 12 months after they were last used—or immediately if you delete them. Deleting a source also removes its filename, raw diagnostics and unchecked suggestions.
• Approved applications, so you have a record of what you sent.

Facts you confirmed and your yes/no decision history remain after source-file deletion so your CV keeps working and CareerStart does not ask the same rejected question again. You can correct confirmed facts, or delete the account and its content within 30 days; only anonymous records we are required to keep remain.

Everything travels over an encrypted connection. ID/passport number and street address are encrypted separately with a dedicated key and masked on ordinary screens. Documents are stored where the web cannot reach them and are served only to you. Staff actions on your account are recorded in a log that cannot be edited or erased.
